Woohoo! Rob has officially joined the Kim Lab as the postdoc #1!

Rob brings some valuable knowledge and skills to our lab (working with membrane proteins and lipids, and more). We are excited to have him in our lab. :)

Our lab is growing. We are already a team of five!!

We have our first undergraduate research assistant, MJ!

MJ is working with Jay and Diego to assist them with growing bacterial cells and purifying proteins. Despite not having any previous lab experience, she has quickly picked up many molecular biology techniques already.

We are very excited to have her in our lab!

Exciting news! We are pleased to announce that Diego has officially joined the Kim Lab as the graduate student #1!

Now we are a team of three. It’s great to have a team to brainstorm new ideas together, work towards the same goal, share the excitement of new discoveries…. and cry together when experiments don’t work as planned (because, well, research!) :)

The first official member of the Kim Lab is here!

Welcome, Jay!

She joins the lab as a lab manager / research technologist I. In addition to making sure everything runs smoothly in the Kim lab, she will help to get the research program off the ground and running!

Spring - Summer 2020

It has been interesting to say the least to set up the lab during the pandemic.

Although a bit slow, the lab equipments and other items ordered are starting to arrive, and the lab is now starting to look more like a functional lab!
